The heart of Wales.
Cardiff Castle is emblematic of the city of Cardiff and the most important monument in the Welsh capital.
It is nestled in the heart of the city and represents over 2000 years of history. Its still boasts sumptuous Victorian apartments, which are open to visitors and even available for parties and other private functions.
The castle was built in the Middle Ages following the restoration of an ancient Norman fortress.
The site has played a continuous and determining role in the history of Wales. The restoration work carried out at the end of the nineteenth century lent a baroque aspect to the castle.
